About KnownBase
We're building the institutional memory that companies deserve — one that learns from every conversation and never walks out the door.
The problem we lived
Every engineering team has the same story: a senior engineer leaves, and suddenly nobody knows why the payment service was built that way, who approved the database migration, or where the architectural decision records live. The answer is always "buried in a Slack thread from 8 months ago."
We've seen this destroy team velocity. New hires take 6 months to get productive — not because the code is hard, but because nobody documented the why behind the decisions.
Our approach
KnownBase doesn't ask anyone to change how they work. No wikis to write. No cards to verify. No surveys to fill out.
We connect to the tools your team already uses — Slack, Teams, GitHub, Jira, email, meetings — and passively build a living knowledge graph of who knows what, who decided what, and why. When someone has a question, KnownBase answers it with sources.
What makes us different
Every other tool in this space searches documents. We understand people. Our People Graph knows each person's expertise, communication style, and how their knowledge evolves over time. This is the layer that Glean, Slack AI, and Copilot are missing.
Our values
- Privacy first. We never expose raw messages. We never track individual productivity. We never use your data for training. Period.
- Zero behavior change. If your tool requires humans to change their habits, it will fail. We learn from what people already do.
- Honest AI. Our anti-hallucination pipeline verifies every factual claim. If we don't know, we say so.
- Self-improving. Our Quality Judge catches mistakes and auto-corrects. We get better without manual tuning.
